sealed or ported???

big sealed box spl galore for a type x, ive heard one proted and 2 sealed both sounded much better, but ported coulda been made shitty

the port must not have been tuned right then because a ported box will birng out the boom subs!

The Type-X's specs lend itself to being much better suited for use in a sealed box (EBP of 40.5, Qts of .64). You can't just throw any sub in a ported box and have good results, some subs just don't work aswell ported and give better results sealed.

But you missed the point, not every sub will work well ported, regardless of your personal preference. Some sub designs just work better sealed. The Type-X spec wise looks to be one of those subs that just works better sealed.

h2... sub sucks so bad ported. I've never seen a sub **** so bad in anything but 1or 2 boxes.

high EBP subs dont always hate ported... CVR for example. They still hold up well ported and get loud. I think DBdrive also have high EBP.. work well ported.

There is more to how well a sub will work ported than EBP.

Type X I honestly have no experience.. my opinion - build both and see what happens.

Don't always, there are some subs that violate the rules. But the EBP and Qts are decent indicators.
