Sealed or ported?

I know there is a sticky on this. But I want to hear your opinions. Do you think a sealed box with 4 12's can hit as hard as a ported box?

there are so many variables, but in general, ported is the answer

"assuming" you have the proper volume to do 4 ported then I'd put my $$$ on them being louder then the sealed. If you cram them into a box that's too small with not enough port area, then the sealed will probably be louder...

if you're comparing 4 sealed to some other ported set up then no one can tell you that...

It comes down to driver selection and design goals. Some drivers I just wouldn't port and some I just wouldn't seal. Sometime neither is the best option for your specific application.

i would go with aroun 38-40hz ported to hit just about everything you would possibly want...... but sealed would be great for the higher frequencies that rock has compared to rap.
