Sealed or ported?

do NOT do a sealed and ported enclosure. How much power do you have? do you have room for a 4 12 ported box?. as said, the t/s specs model up well for ported. as far as tuning the box, what type of sound are you looking for? Real low notes, real hard hitting? low notes(28-32hz) happy medium(32-38) spl(38-whatever)

i have 1000watts right now.

yeah i think i got the room.

i want good sounding rock and rap

i love slamming low notes but i listen to alot of rock and want that to sound good too

Dude, your question has been answered like 8x now. What are you still bumping this for? Rock music is midbass dependent like frosty said, so if you have strong midbasses in your doors, then tune lower to get all the lows, but if not, tune higher as was said before.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/word.gif.64b12e39f936af3b4fff38a1c0bd0244.gifUsually, low tuned boxes are "smooth" but tend to fall off quickly as the frequency goes up, so things like kick drums won't have much "snap" as with a higher tuning. If you have strong mids and a lot of power going to them you might be okay.
This is not true.

its what i like..... 28-32 is teh lowz which are nice...... only saying make sure ur front stage mids are able to keep up with the midbass in rock. the only dissadvantage to tuning that low... 28-32hz is the decrease in the ability to reproduce a higher frequency is all.
Neither is this.

Above the tuning frequency (about 1/2 an octave) the port stops adding to the output and you're left with the sub acting like it's in a sealed enclosure of the volume equal to the net enclosure volume. Any loss in upper bass or lower midbass (60-80hz) is due to design issues and not the low tuning.
