Sealed or Ported for 2 12" Eclipse SW8200

I got these two 12" Eclipse SW8200's today and was wondering can I put them in a ported box. They are in this small crappy sealed pre-fab box that actually sounds ok. I want to put them in a ported box but the specs say ported is not recommended. Anyone have any experience with these in a ported box? And if I have to do another sealed box, will bigger be better?

I would try about 5 cubes sealed for the pair. That should get pretty low and sound pretty nice.
