sealed 2 ported ???

I have a prefab mtx enclosure. With mtx 4500 subs, 4 ohms a piece. I want to port this box but there isnt much room for options can I port it from the top and get a good response (can I get the 35 hz ) ported from top to bottom???

as opposed to porting from the front with the subs facing out of the trunk towards the tail lights. the box is some what triangular.in shape . any suggestions . .. as the ports will not fit In the front unless they are small diam ports and would that cut my sound down ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

You do not want to port that prefab box. Ported boxes need to be specifically designed...you can't just throw a port on a sealed box and call it a day.....It's not that easy. Ported boxes typically need to have a larger net volume than a sealed box, and a MUCH larger gross volume than a sealed box once you factor in port displacement.

So, all in all, design yourself (or have someone else design you) a custom ported box, and do not try to port that prefab sealed box.

Build or have a shop build you a ported box.
