Saying bye to DD.

You said when i have something under my belt.. ive designed and installed systems since i was 12. Next show ill enter into sq. Even though its highly flawedformat..
Talking about SQ belts my bad.

I like how you already setup to discredit the competition and its format so when you dont do so hot, you already have a scapegoat lol.

Jim. Subjective listening is fine but recording the actual waveforms and overlapping them with tge orginal master record is the only way to provide accurate results.

So you don't think we study the judging material?

You didn't design your own drivers. You ordered them from alibaba.

how you know? you want to talk to the build house? alibaba has links to build houses. from there you contact the company. i told them specifically what i wanted. the coils and the motors where built to spec. using a platform that existed i made some modifications they built them. i told them specifically what i wanted. its not a driver they have on the self the motor and coil where built for me. you cannot buy these anywhere else nor will the build house sell you the same design. very very very few companies build inhouse.

90% of companies that sell drivers don't even use their own design. they pay for a design.

I gave specific instruction they use programs to simulate make small corrections and then build them..

the engineer insisted the shorting rig was expensive and not beneficial i told him its not an option i wanted it not only that its VERY THICK to avoid an possible saturation.

go find that driver on alibaba and when you do contact them. ask for the parameters and graps.. ill be you my left nut you won't find the same driver ANYWHERE.
Well here's something for you. How does a speaker being low distortion(which you won't hear anyway) have any effect on the left and right sides of of the car being different in response, distance, or axis?

you mean to tell me you wont hear the difference in a driver that naturally has a lower distortion vs others? stop wasting your money then!

the vehicles acoustics are one thing the drivers acoustics are another.

I've always said if you can build the cabin to better suit comb filtering, phase issues and frequency response thats by far the best. other than that processing can fix alot of issues.

phasing is always going to be a huge issue. there is no way around it. IMD(intermodulation distortion) is real it does exist and its in every loudspeaker in existence.

let not get side tracked. pm me ill give you my personal contacts and they will clear any questions you have about the design. what the point of me wanting to build loudspeakers if i let someone else design them. did they aid me? sure i don't have leap. is there a specific design i use in my drivers? yes I've said it plenty of times. I've learned over the years from klipple testing and buying and testing drivers for years

i use longer coils would to give a specific inductance over excursion have the higher surface area to have lower power compression and larger flux pathways to keep motor strength ideal for the application. of course the shorting ring to lower back EMF and inductance shift.

I'm good man. You do you. I'm sure it will turn out as good as that sub you failed on

Shocked to see the DD go away.
I'm keeping the amps for a while. There are not to many options that make the same power in that foot print.

If I can do the amps on the floor I might change them to a big 5 channel like the Voce 5.1. That and the bit 10 can do full DA

Well it's in. I've ran a calibration. It sounds just like the 8 but I haven't got it on the dash yet. Maybe because it needs to loosen up or maybe because I spent a few months working on the 8. I'm running threw some referenced tracks now working on the blend. I got till Friday and I have to drop the box off at the upholstery shop to get pleather wrapped to match the seats.

It's getting better each song

I think it's going to work out. It's getting half the power as the 8 but it's still enough output. A bit to much at first.

I think after a few days of play it will take the lead. It's better on the top end >50hz and my cabin gain flattens it out

This just goes to prove you can do SQ with a "SPL" sub ported. The Q is one of the top SQ woofers ever since it came out.

It's always compared to the W6.
