same car, different sound

I bought another car this week; it is the same year, make, model as I have had. I transferred the stereo/ amp/ subwoofer to the new car. Everything is the same, except for the dash/ door/ rear speakers; they are not the original factory speakers, as they were in the old car. The issue is this: the subwoofer is WAY quieter than it was in the old car. The new cars' speakers are all rated for 140 watts peak, and the original factory speakers have built-in amps on each speaker. Are the new speakers taking too much power away from the amp, even though the pre-amp RCA jacks are separate from the main wiring harness?
