Rockford Fosgate power hx2 help

I have a question. I have just bought one 12" rfr 3112(power hx2) It has 2 2ohm voice coils. now my question is, how do i wire them for 2 ohms???

I was told you cant wire them for two ohms. only 1ohm or 4ohms. I bought the rockford bd1000.1 amp to power the sub. it gives off 500 watts at 4ohms but i want to give them the 1000watts the amp gives at 2 ohms.

you can wire them at 2 ohms you wire the positve of one vc to the negative of the other and run you r power to the positive of the firts and the negative to tthe other vc. its hard to explain hope it helps if i had a pic of it id send it to ya

GEONN!!! NO WAY!! you cant make a single 2ohm DVC sub to produce 2ohms impendance.. its only 1ohm and 4ohm...

1ohm = parallel wiring

4ohm = combination series & parallel

if you have a PAIR of 2ohm DVC subs, then you can wire them in combination series & parallel to produce 2ohms.

ok i got it, i have the sub wire for 1 ohm, but my problem is that i dont want to damage the amp by having the sub at 1 ohm. I have the bd1000.1 amp. Can it handle a 1 ohm load.
