Project: F350 begins...
Okay, today my stereo was acting up, and i have NO IDEA why. The only change i've made to it in the last 4 months is i switched out my 2ch amp, all the wiring is the same and whatnot.
Anyways, two things happened on my way back to my dorm today. First, when i turned up the volume, my tweeters put out a lot of static when certain bass notes hit, and the bass was coming from the subs, not the speakers. This happened a while back for a day or two, but it went away on its own. But its happening again now. What would cause this?
Also, the subwoofers/amp were acting up too. I turned up the volume (not as high as i tuned it to, it could have put out more on any other day), and the subs totally shut off. Im not sure if it was the amp going into protect or the subs just stopped playing or not, but regardless i turned the HU off so everything shut off. About 5 seconds later, i turned everything back on at a low volume, and everything was playing again. the bass was sort of quiet for what the volume was at. About 10 seconds of music played, then there was a loud blurp from the subs, and then they played louder, like maybe only 1 was playing at one point (even though their wired into a 1 ohm load).
Now, at higher volume, the tweeter still puts out a static sound whenever a bass note hits (filters are set so they arent playing the bass note, which is weird), and the subs seem to get a distorted sound at somewhat higher volume.
Any ideas? the only thing i could think of is its been pretty cold here. It got down to about 5 degrees last night. when the problems began happening today, it was around 25 degrees.
