rev limiter by pass please HELP

i have a 1999 olds bravada with a 4.3 vortec and it shuts off at 100 mph how can i eaither bypass it or disangage it? where is the sensor or what ever and how do i take it out so that my truck dont shut off when i hit 100

Your truck shuts off at 100mph? Doubt that.

And if its at exactly 100mph, that'd be a speed limiter.

Finally, LEAVE it. You don't need to be doing anything above 100 in that vehicle. Thnxbie.

was looking for the same info on an olds alero and the only option I have came up with is take it to a performance shop and have it reprogrammed. And for those that would like to know why go that fast, in my case, my car shuts off at 105 in third and the speedo reads 140 and would probably bury that in 4th. I think you should get EVERYTHING you pay for.

Why go faster u say. well probly becuase when u are racing somone u dont wanna hit a certain speed and basically lose becuase u cant hit over 100. i have my olds bravada tricked out trust me i have about 10,000 if not more into it and i cant seem to get it about 100 with out it shutting off. so if ur not stupid and wanna help how can i dissangaged it?

buy a hypertech programmer or have a custom computer tune from companies like wait4me performance or pcm4less done and besides an oldsmobile bravada isn't the best handling vehicle on the road. suv rollovers ftl.

edit: also what exactly do you have done to your bravada that adds up to 10k?

Take it to a shop, have it custom tuned. They can take your speedlimiter off with that tune.

But I agree with the fact that you ought not do it.

If you had over 10k in it your would know how to disengage it.

your not in a vehicle designed to operate at high speeds......maybe there is a limiter for a reason and not just to ruin your fun
