No, a few mods get a stick up there *** and think people are abusing the system and then put that in goobs head. The system is not being abused, it is being used the same way it's been used at every other forum. I was at a forum the other day where a member had over 68,000 pts. Apparently it aggravates a few b/c certain members feel they are better than others and get pissed that so and so has more pts than others. I'm sure it pisses some people off that I have the most pts. They need to get over it. Supposedly the rep will be reset. Some people have the idea that the rep system should only be used for classifieds. I disagree with this. It's just a toy, just like the smilies. Just something to play with. Along the way you weed out a scammer or two.
Either way, reset it to 0 or not. Team Ramrod will rise to the occasion. We vow to put all scammers in there places.
That wont work at all, people will just retaliate at everyone who gives them neg feedback.Leave the name's of people who get repped you.
If Phat's ePenis is that much bigger than mine I may as well commit ******* now!actually it's used to measure your e-penis.
Indeed. That's what it is. It's a popularity meter more or less.
big boi? Mines only this "..........." big. 11 dots. Approximately 1.5". Barely enough to wrap my finger around and ********** to.Well shit, what are you doin tonight big boi //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
Exactly. So how does popularity effect reputation for selling, etc?
I mean, yeah, you could be a douche, and not very popular, but still a good seller, whereas you could be very popular, and still scam someone.
If we left the rep system to strictly the classifieds, then it would only directly affect your buy/sell reputation, which is what people should care about moreso than a cool meter.
x2. like i said. scammers should just be banned. not a bunch of kids neggin them, and people getting buthurt.x2
I'm hoping for a few more enhancements.
*Ahem*

Changing colors...
Other cool stuff as rep piles up.
Rep system or not, the scammers will always get called out, and the good CA.com sellers will always get their props. That's what the classifieds feedback section is for!
That's why you have references. Generally if you're a good seller, you're going to have a green dot or two, and if you're red, you'll either have references or you're ****ed. It doesn't work like it's supposed to anyway anywhere. A guy on bodybuilding.com that was a mod had a very good rep, probably the highest on the board, he scammed people out of more than 10 grand. So rep & references aren't an end all be all. It's merely a toy...along hte lines if someone scams, I'll do my best to put them in the red, so that others will beware. Other than that for the most part, if I like you...like what you have to say...etc. I'll give you a + just for the hell of it.Exactly. So how does popularity effect reputation for selling, etc?

Just like on eBay, though, not everyone bothers to leave feedback (whether positive or negative being appropriate) after the completion of a transaction. Any possible system will have its flaws...i thought that was what the feedback forum was for? if buyers don't want to do the neccesarry research when buying, they deserve to get scammed
