I just fell in love with my type-x 12's all over again.
I just couldn't get them loud before, they sounded great, and hit nice lows, but there was just something missing... In search of more volume, i decided on a summer setup of 2 15" kicker l7's, and when THOSE weren't getting loud, i figured out something else must be wrong.
So over the last 5 weeks or so, i tore out ALL my wiring, and started fresh. 0 gauge big 3, interstate starter battery under the hood, optima red top in the back, 0 gauge to my hifonics amp, 4 gauge to my kenwood amp, 2 1.2 farad capacitors, and even treated the audi to a 240A iraggi alternator //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Needless to say, i found the problem(s) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
My gear POUNDS now, i've got the type-x's back in for now while i have a lower-tuned box made for my L7's, and now that i just went for a test run tonight, i may be putting the l7's up, cause this is WAY more than enough..... Holy crap. SQL DOES EXIST!
Anyways, i was too excited not to post, it's nice to know the $600+ i just dropped into my electrical system was worth it, and it definitely was.
I don't know precisely what the problem was, i had my system installed for me at a local shop, and when i started taking everything apart, it was a nightmare.... 8 gauge going to my 2000w hifonics amp? Thanks! 8 gauge going to my kenwood component amp? Awesome! Speaker wiring hooked up in random phasing? EXCELLENT! 18 gauge wire going to my subs?? Spectacular! 190,000 mile 120A alternator? Not even close to adequate....
I am in heaven..... Tomorrow after work, tho, i wont see my car again until sunday, tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Gonna go to Phili with my pops to visit my grandma, and hit up my cousin's graduation party.
But, hell yes, i'm sure it'll be just as loud when i get back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
