Hi,
I've just purchased an Alpine MRV-F300 amp and a JVC KD-X341BT (thanks to everyone who helped in this forum for getting me this far). I noticed the amp has a remote turn on connection which is wired to the head unit, but connector to be bought separately.
1) Is this a special cable or something I can make myself?
2) Can it be wired to any head unit (+ve out) or only head units that have a 'live out' feature when turned on?
3) How does this work, technically? Does the amp recognise a connection simply because a wire is connected and only allow power to the amp when receiving a signal through this cable? Or is it an alternative power source?
Keen to wire this up if I can, so any pointers appreciated, thanks.
