a sub woofer is a speaker that plays sub bass frequencies. The cyclone is a sub woofer it is in the class of rotary sub woofers. Look them up this clearly can and is considered one.

I was pretty heavy into HT for a while and seen a build a guy did of a DIY rotary sub in his basement, thing was awesome.

no its a rotary sub. the box in that vid appears to be divided.
