remember these crazy subs???????

I researched into them and they have to be cleaned yearly and the magnets slowly kill themselves out. Plus they need a 3.5 cubic foot box ported or 3 sealed. But for the lows you can't really beat it.

Not too bad really. Unless in comparison you could run a 15"-18" and have more output on same power. Then I could see what happened there.
iirc these hit low teens nicely which is hard to achieve unless you spend alot on something. i was reading a conversation on a forum once about this and these guys were heavy into home cinema....spending tens of thousands on their set ups. not something you can run to best buy and grab in other words . pg tried to maket these as car audio but would of probably been better as a ht sub. maybe you could get a sub with more output but without spending the money you wont hit lower.

i would run 2-4 of these in a cinema/audio room. not ideal for a small house/apartment living room lol. space usually isnt a big issue in a dedicated audio/cinema room.

I own one of the most pristene Cyclones left, its not even ever been mounted in an enclosure. It even has the 1997 IASCA advertisements with the manual. Perhaps I should scan and post them? I had intended to put it in my C6 Vette but its litterally too big to fit in the trunk so I think i'm going to make it a home theater sub. The requirements for them are 2.5 cubes SEALED.

If the OP wants to sell me theirs, i'd appreciate it :p

Where did you get those requirements?

dont have them just ran across them fs on ebay.

ah ok. .... I'd just like to aquire a couple more cyclones for my collection. Its really just a DC motor with some flaps attached to it with an AC signal/power from your amps. Pretty simple concept in general and it does get low and nasty on just a few hundered watts. Its been fun to play with for sure.

Interpolate' date=' bro?

And its funny how people throw these numbers out of their a[i']s[/i]s like they know what they're talking about. 2.5cubes sealed is not bad at all.

The box requirements I stated were from enthusiasts on the phoenix phorums. Snoopdan said 2.5 sealed but I was told multiple times 3 sealed is ideal and 3.5 ported is ideal. I'm sure 2.5 sealed would still be good but from what I was told 3 is ideal.
