Regular car battery as an extra battery in the trunk for my amp?

so if i have the right sealed but vented box made for it, will i be able to use it just like a kinetic battery? and will it work better?

yes you can use it but no it wont be any better than a kinetic, unless i'ts a pretty strong car battery. just go for something deepcycle

A kinetik is meant for trunk, so how is lower powered battery going to be better? That is like saying 75 ft swimming pool is better than a 100 ft pool. I don't see that logic being correct at all. Just cause saving around $50 to $100 does not mean it could or would be better. You get what you pay for. I have tried cheap ways to get around things, and I will tell you honestly it is a waste of cheap money and time.

there would be a safety concern. make sure you adequately secure a battery meant for under the hood. i would personally never do a battery that could spill in the cabin when tipped over.

If it's a regular car battery made for under the hood I wouldn't do it. There is going to be a ton of fumes from it.

I would go the route of an agm type cell be it kinetik or deka before I would use a wet flooded cell.

A regular automotive battery is going to need to vent.

You need to run a sealed battery.

YEa I ran a acid under hood style batt for a week or so. I was always worried lol. Just gret a deep cycle youl have better performance and they are designed to react properly with current drains of a system. You can always get a walmart deep cycle marine or tractor deep cycle. They can be had for the cheap. I have heard of some ppl going that route.
