This thread is full of fail... big time

First off, I know of two shops (one I work at being one) that have w7's BNIB w/ warrenty for less than you guys are saying for a recone ($500)

TeamPSI CAN recone w7's How many times does it have to be said. He uses better softparts, and can customize the sub to your liking. Last I talked to him it was arund $50 to get the motor redrilled for a new basket (which is a bargain), and then the normal rates (like $150-200 for recone) for the softparts. So at max your looking at $250+ price of basket (which you can get a used 12-spoke or something for cheap, like ~$15)...

JL will not persecute anyone for treason. They don't (last I send subs in to them at the shop) check serials, as it really does nothing but loose money and possible business for them (especially when they know your ready to drop a few bills for a recone)

too bad you don't live over here...guy said he would take $500 with the box, makes you think twice about paying that much for a recone, look for something slightly used, even on craigslist, just try it out and look at the coils. You will save a sh1t load of money.

I talked to my friend who bought 2 of them from indoaudio on e-bay (back when they were still around) He had to have 1 reconed it cost him $438 including shipping, and they never hassled him about where it came from. Anyways you can say you bought it used somewhere,, newspaper, craiglsit, yardsale. Then you would not know if it was bought from a authorized company anyways. He had his done in early 08 so prices may have jumped up a bit...............
