Recommendation for tight subwoofer

Personally I would get him the IDMAX. If you can find a UL 12 used theyr are still about a grand.. there is someone on here that had a couple a while ago.

SSA Icon, Fi Q, are a couple to look at. I think my Icons are really accurate and clear. I'm not really into any super high end stuff because I can't afford it. I'm sure you'll find some good reccomendations though from more experienced people than me.

I like the way you think, but what the OP might not understand is that the quality of the install and type of enclosure will have a greater effect on it the model of sub woofer.
