Recommendation for tight subwoofer

Did you even read the original post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Porsche 928 is a hell of a car, what year? They were well over $100k in 95.
1985 Porsche 928S

Anyways, he really doesn't care about price. DDZ? What are those?

What does age have to do with woofer characteristics?
He is saying that most kids do not care about the sound quality, they just want extremely boomy bass that everyone else can hear.

retail for like $3500:greedy: come anywhere from 10" to 18" and soon a 21"

a ported sub can still sound very tight. just needs to be the right sub in the right box.

watch this thread turn into another ported VS sealed thread now.
i have compared and personally think that sealed boxes sound tighter. Im not going to argue it is a matter of personal opinion but i do not like the way ported box have the lagging sound to them. I have heard an fi q in a ported box compared to sealed and although it was very very very similar the sealed box did sound tighter

Hello, everyone!
My boss today told me that he wanted a new sub woofer put in his car. (No, we're not an audio business haha) Basically, he told me he wanted the best 10" subwoofer he could get. Money does not matter for this guy, he has a Porsche 928 that he wants me to install a new sub woofer in. He basically said, "I want the tightest bass you can get, I want it tighter than a bull's *******. Doesn't matter how much it costs."

So give me a few recommendations, because that's way out of my range..

BTW, he hates "boomy, sloppy bass like the young kids have."

Thanks,

Nicholas DeLisi

Try one of the high end three ways for the doors first, if thats not enough? than add a nice 10"

Trey how are the MB quart amps?

More money wont necessarily get you better SQ. Get a good solid SQ oriented 10, concentrate on getting the box/install right, and the guy will be happy. I also agree to check into his front midbass situation, it likely needs an upgrade.

you haven't heard the right sub, in the right box, tuned correctly yet then. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

if you heard my sub and didn't know what it was before hand you probably would guess that it was a ported sub. it sounds tight and punchy like a sealed sub but with the low end of a ported sub.

Throw a 12" SE in a sealed box on about 800w, sure to surprise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
