Recommendation: 12" Space Saving SQL SUB UNDER $300? 1200-1500RMS

Its funny, the old XXX was always considered a 'large box' woofer, it was the most common complaint owners had about them. RE recommended a 2 cu.ft enclosure (ported) for it. In fact, 2 cubes ported is about the most common enclosure recommendation there is for 12's. 3 cubes is definitely not on the small side for 12's, 2kw or otherwise.
It's all a matter of opinion, man. If you don't have the room, it's an issue. If you have the room, 3 cubes is nothing. FOR ME, 3 cubes is not a huge deal. I just used more room than that in a lincoln ls and that's a tiny trunk.

And besides, the XL 12" will do okay in less than 2 cubes, so this argument is stupid. I just said "less than 3 cubes" as an example...

Is there a huge difference between using a 1.5 and 2 cubic ft box. And is there a 1.5 ported box out there or should I just stick to a 1.5 sealed or 2.0 ported. Are the subs suggested my best bet?

Thanks

I just want to say thank you to everyone who helped me on here. I finally narrowed my choices down to just these few subs: Incriminator Death Row, The Mach 5 SPL, FI BTL, Cadence DCW-12RVC, Audioque HDC3, Audiopulse Revo, Critical Mass, FI BL, FI Q, DD 9512's, SSA XCON, DC Sounds lvl 4 with level 5 coils and finally lvl 4 xl. Now which one of these would be good in a 12" with 1500 watts. In 2 cubic feet and under. SQL or SPL preferred for under $300.

haha sorry to poke fun but you 'narrowed it down' to 13 subwoofers. Gotta admit, thats kinda funny //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Many of those you can cross out because they won't fit your budget.

Which one of these subs are under $300?

The following subs are more than $300 (unless you know something I don't):

Incriminator Death Row

Fi BTL

Audioque HDC3 (aluminum coil)

Digital Designs 9512

Sound Solutions Xcon

DC Lvl 4XL

- The DC Lvl 4 with lvl 5 coil upgrade is literally right in the $300 ballpark, if you can avoid buying from a dealer.

- The Audiopulse Revo may prove difficult to find unless you're willing to purchase a used driver.

- I'm pretty sure the Cadence is discontinued, because I was unable to find any pricing information for it.

- The Critical Mass is obscenely expensive if memory serves. The 12" reference series is in the $300 ballpark, though.

So, that leaves the Fi Q, Audioque HDC3 (copper coil) and the DC Level 4 unless I've overlooked something. I haven't slept in a few days, so that's very possible.
