Less than 3 cubes is a pretty small ported enclosure for a subwoofer that can handle 2,000 watts continuously. At least I think so anyway...3 cubes is a lot for a 12. I wouldnt call that space saving.
What is "space saving", do you mean 1.5 cubes or 3?I'm looking to get one space saving 12" SPL sub. I have heard about Mach 5, DC Audio, Incriminatior Audio and the list goes on. I have been looking at amps and the general consensus is between the MB Quart DSC1500.1D and the Sundown SAE-1200Dv2. Both seem to be very popular here. And should push great subs. I'm not interested in custom subs. Any recommendations would be great. And where to get a good custom box would be great too.
Thank You
So would this FI Q be recommended for a seal enclosure?Fi audio q.....all day man...btw, do the mb quart 1500.1 amp...may handle 1500, but that sub max's @ 1k i believe...gl
Is it really worth getting all these upgrades for the FI Q or should I go with your other suggestions? Should this Cadence sub be put in a sealed box? Anyone else heard these Cadence subs?q with all the upgrades will handle that amp fine imho
CADENCE 12" 3000w COMPETITION SUB/350 OZ MAG+RECONE KIT - eBay (item 350334119268 end time May-27-10 12:26:47 PDT)
pm bobby32 about these subs, he just installed them, get crazy loud but sound amazing. best budget sub out their imho. and that mb would be perfect, better suited
Any particular reason you choice these subs? Have you heard these in person? And what kind of box would work well with these?Critical Mass 12's work very well in small spaces
I am shooting for one 12" as stated in my original thread. I want as much trunk space with a powerful 12" sub and yet still sound as good as possible. What is "space saving", do you mean 1.5 cubes or 3?
I too would love to know what would work well in 1.5 cubes and 1500 watts.
Also, if you're space is really limited you'd be better off with 10's in the right enclosure than 12's in the wrong, or 1 12 vs 2 maybe.
Audiopulse Revo, Ill take a look. mclerico83, you have so many suggestions I have no idea which one to pick now. Everyone on here has so much incite and yet I have no idea. I don't think anyone has repeated the same sub twice haha, except maybe the FI Q. I'm trying to set my heart on the MB Quart and not look back on the amp. The sub and the boxes are the final pieces.audiopulse revo 1500rms and works great in as little as 1 cube sealed recomend 1.5
Its funny, the old XXX was always considered a 'large box' woofer, it was the most common complaint owners had about them. RE recommended a 2 cu.ft enclosure (ported) for it. In fact, 2 cubes ported is about the most common enclosure recommendation there is for 12's. 3 cubes is definitely not on the small side for 12's, 2kw or otherwise.Less than 3 cubes is a pretty small ported enclosure for a subwoofer that can handle 2,000 watts continuously. Those Audiopulse ones are really expensive from what I've seen. Is there anything under $300 that can go in a 1.5 box? Whats the smallest box the Cadence can go into 2 cubic feet? And is 1.5 the smallest for a sealed 12" sub?then i would go with a cadence 12 in a 2cube ported box, for the price and output it cant be beat, bobby32 just put 2 daytona's 12's in his truck to replace an 18 inch xxx and he says they wipe the floor sq and loudness wise to the xxx. i have personally use them and love them, it is a huge 50 pound sub though, and he has it on 1000rms each
so pretty much audiopulse if you want a sealed
cadence if you want a ported.
