Eclipse SW8210 12" VS. ALPINE TYPE-R 12"

I have seen good reviews on the Alpine, but never on the Eclipse model. Which one is better?

the Eclipse has a $500 retail and on sonic-electronix is on closeout for 160!!! The alpines are 120, but handle less power...any info would be much appreciated. they only have 5 left, so i need to know quick about the eclipse...thanks

i have no idea..if u look up the sub, it kinda looks like a sundown sa-12 from the back...

I think the eclipse subs look good, but there isn't much info on them. I looked into them myself for a while. If I were you, I'd go with the R's because they're proven.

i hear ya, but that eclipse has great specs and looks like a beast, especially @ the closeout price...i would be doing a 2cuft ported box @ 33hz, so hopefully one will sound good in my trunk..really wanted to do a port through my rear seat armrest, but i dont know how to tune a bandpass box

It will probably be a good sub. Heck, it might even be collectable someday since Fujitsu Ten (eclipse is a branch of them) is getting out of aftermarket audio systems.

true..i think i might snag one soon and do a review of it on here..i like to take chances sometimes...lol..my old school rockford bd1000a1 will push the hell outta either one of them, even @ half gain...thanks man..

hopefully somebody has an answer for me before i buy, but if not, im gonna try the eclipse...
