Rear speaker whine (engine noise), why...?

the power next to RCA's causing noise is a myth. .
Bull shit have seen this problem first hand . I had a electronic xover under the seat in a pickup next to a alpine amp . I had the moast horrable engine wine ever, untill one day I was moveng things arround under the seat. when I accidently moved an rca . the noise all of the sudden quit, I was suprised as hell that it was the problem and very happy at the same time. I was chasing that noise for over a year. I re routed my wires and problem was solved . So sepirate powers from rca's;)

if everything would have been grounded better it wouldn't have happened.... i have my rca's taped to my 4 gauge power wire in one car... and rca's along with my 0/1gauge in my current car...

Man, do you even read post? My situation I had nothing hooked up to the rear speakers, so a ground was not in use. But I guess it was still a ground?

... some people are too stupid...

maybe if you weren't so sleepy then YOU would read posts dickhead...

Ya, people told me it was a myth too so i regrounded everything and it was still there. I finally ran the RCA cables opposite of the power wire and no more hiss.
it's a myth... if it happens its because you do not have very good grounds

so wake up cockbreath and don't jump on MY case about reading posts unless you do the same...

all forms of engine noise and hiss are caused by poor grounds. If you have a clean ground in a good spot.. there will be no noise travelling up the lines. If you have poor grounds, then you have noise. You can run the absolute shittiest RCA's next to the biggest powercable you want, and as long as your equipment is grounded PROPERLY, then you will have NO problems.

For the people who have had an issue with their system.. their ONE system. Get a clue, most of us do this for a living, we wouldn't be saying this stuff if it wasn't true. We do this all day long on multiple cars.

And I guess you are still going to say my amp is defective while it is unhooked and the speakers were still making noise? And now that I moved my power wire.. the hiss is gone, but yet still defective? Yeah.. I would deffinity let a professional like you touch my audio system.

I turned to this forum for some smart people... I got a bunch of freaking idiots who think they know everything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Wow... what the hell are you talking about?

You say that is has to be a ground and can't be a power next to rca/speaker wire problem, but yet that was my problem and a few others that posted in this thread. Deffinity had to be ground problems. You too are a smart one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

My power wire that was running along side my rear speaker wires was causing the whine. I read that it didn't matter if it was running along side of it and did my install the easy way with everything running on one side.

The speaker wire was picking up the EMF the power wire was giving off and causing whine in the speakers (alternator whine)...

the reason it did that... was because ur products did not have a good ground... that's what we are trying 2 explain to you ********... if everything has a good ground in your car... then you can zip tie your rca's... speaker wire... and 0/1 power wire 2gether... and you will not have engine noise... providing you do not have faulty equipment...

No, when my amp was unhooked a ground didn't matter. I had my rear speakers mounted with speaker wire running towards my amp, but not hooked up... So nothing was hooked up...Understand?

k stevey... if you want your amp disconnected... disconnect the power wire or take the fuse out going to the amp... the other day an installer in my shop installed an amp sub and was having bad ground noise ... the wire came out of the crimp ring terminal that was screwed into the chassis.. therefore the amp didn't have a ground... it still came on tho... then he grounded the amp... problems went away... you take a chance of messing up your head unit by disconnecting your ground but leaving the power wire in... it will search for ground through anything... and if you have a pioneer then that mean's the rca's... then... well you'll have a problem almost every pioneer owner has...

as Slody4Futbol is saying,

EMF will travel into whatever line i can to make it back to the battery (ground) IF there is a LACK of, or improper ground.

apparently, you had a crappy ground location, and your amp was putting feedback through the power wire to find a ground - and the EMF found its way thru the speaker wire (rca?), and back to the HU, and to its groundl, then back to the battery - causing interference thru the RCA.

when you removed your amplifiers ground, it made the problem worse. moving the speaker wires (rca \and wires from amp to speaker) might solve the problem. but the feedback and improper ground are still there. for you to deal with at a later time.

if you tried moving your ground to different locations (and made sure they were very tight, and on bare metal) - chances are you would have spared yourself from all these problems. resistance back to the battery of a car is the breeding ground for feedback. and grounds are the #1 source of resistance in a car audio loop.

you dont seem to understand these concepts of electronics, and you seem to not give a crap. so be happy that your problem was solved and your equipment was not fried.
