ok im looking at the web site right now and im thinken my bd1000 wont be able to power 2 hc's but the se's would be perfect at 2ohms giving them 500watts rms to each. Am i right on this? And would the se's sound THAT much better than the type r's? Also i am looking to put the subs in a sealed box so i can get good sq. Any suggestions on how much cubic feet for each chamber on the se's?

you won't lose much sq in a ported box.....go ported.....you'll be happy you did..if you can get another bd1000 then go w/ the hc's....the hc's are a higher line from RE (get louder/have better sq) and cost the same now b/c of the sale......if you can muster the power go hc's...if not...go se's and port dem suckas

I dont have the money for another bd1000 so im deff goin with the se's. Just need to know how much cubic feet for a ported box and how many cubic feet for a sealed box. Ima make both and see which one i like n prolly sell the other. I need to just know how many cubic feet for EACH box. Thanx alot guys for the help.

SE's will OWN type R's in any way. Ask me how i know. and ive heard PLENTY of Type R setups

Hmm, is the Rockford amp 1-ohm stable?

If its not you can't use the SE's because they are dual 4 ohm. Your wiring options leaves you with either a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load.

the amp is not 1ohm stable. But i thought a dvc 4ohm could be wired at 2ohms?

woops im an idiot. the amp is not 1 ohm stable. So now i gotta look for an amp that puts out 800 - 1000 watts rms at 4 ohms. Any suggestions? Remember im 16 n dont have alot of money.

Or an amp that puts out 1000@ 1 ohm. Try a JBL 1200.1, hifonics bx1000d, hifonics bx1500d, etc.

i really wanna stick with the bd1000 cuz i can get it from a friend (maybe free) so know i wanna know if 750rms at 4 ohms (325 to each sub) will be enough to power them. The site says 350 to 600 rms recommended to each subs so im thinking it wont be enough to power them. Should i just get 2 type r's? (300w rms each)

if the SE is 600W RMS. what would be the best amoount to feed it? how little wattage can you get by giving it? 400? 500?

it'll take 650+ for daily driving no problem....i'd say give it at least 450+ per sub to get the most out of them...give em less than that and you won't be using them to their full potential...i'd say jbl1200.1 in this situation....can be had on ebay for pretty cheap

Just a Q... since the HCs are on sale for now ... why don't you get a pair for now and build a nice ported box. They may be enough for you now, or you might find that in 3-4 months you want more, and then all you would have to do is buy another/different amp to squeeze some more output out of them.

Either way, the HCs and SEs both sound pretty **** good from what I hear...

2.5 cubes tuned to 32 hz is what Teampsidavid recommended me...slot port design...forgot the dimensions and lost the picture he drew me cuz my comp crashed...but you won't be disappointed...give the se some more power!! i'm giving it only 500 and it's still bangin...enjoy
