RE MT18 or BTL18 for SPL only same price, which would you choose

a btl is a mt .

if a btl is a mt,then why is mt's made by re audio,and btl's made by fi car audio,and yes i have experiance with both,the mt is a superior sub imo,all i can say about the btl is they bottom out easy and the coil will hit the backplate to easy.the only reason people really choose the btl over the mt is because of the price imo.

Yeah on the two slug version I at first thought it was the former bottoming out, but now that I have read about some of your and others problems I guess it is the cone hitting the spider landing? those include subs that many say here as being indestructable lol (not going to mention woofer companies and what not as to me it not important) just know in spl comps you are more than likely abusing it lol

What you are hearing is the cone hitting the spider landings of the basket. The BTL isnt a mechanically limited design. so therefore, something has to limit it, and the first thing that hits is the cone, right on the basket.

Music...20.1 @ .5 dont know what the rise was. But say it was getting to at least 1 ohm...

So less than 2k...and the gains were set at 6 volume notches above where the vid was taken.
