The whole thing with the MT being a poor daily sub is nothing more then a myth!! When installed in a large low tuned box the MT actually sounds very good, considering its a SPL woofer. I havnt had any experence with the BTL so i cant actually compare the two, but i can tell you that my 2 MT's are fine in a DD setup.

You've got a brand new mustang running 93 octane, ordered with the same accessories and trim options as the following one, the other car being identical to the first, running 87 octane...who's gonna win the 1/4 mile?

If you want to post links...
Music...20.1 @ .5 dont know what the rise was. But say it was getting to at least 1 ohm...

So less than 2k...and the gains were set at 6 volume notches above where the vid was taken.

Is this a flaw in the design of the softparts that is allowing this to happen?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I have heard the same thing with my own ears with squeek12s BTL12 . If these subs cant play lower freq at high power levels why does it say on FIs website "Need incredible Xmax to feed your 160dB at 20Hz obsession? " for the BTL? I know I never had these problems with older XXX12s or SX12s with the same basket. I am just curious as to what is causing these problems.

2 and 2 seems to be adding to 4 today, instead of 3.999999999

If it took 10,000 watts for me to hit the basket, playing 15 hz below tuning, its not a driver design issue. I think it's the install and/or user.

Now, I'm sure you wanna call BS, but we have it on video as part of the 12" challenge. A dozen witnesses, a video taken months ago, and NOBODY else complaining of the problem.

You never had the problem with older XXX's and SX's for the same reason you don't on Xplod's or any other sub.... it's not the same sub.

12 spoke is a 12 spoke is a 12 spoke.

Clif's situation we simply can not figure out, i've done many hours of figuring and thinking trying to figure out why his is doing that....even sent him another sub that we tested and broke in fully free-air all the way up from 5hz to 100hz and could never get it to make any kind of noise.

The 12 challenge we beat on the thing for hours with 3-4kw (if not more) on tap at all times and the only time it would reach the basket is when we were trying to kill it playing it well below tuning.

I can't tell anyone either. BTL is the only sub that will do that in my truck. Every other sub, including some 12-spoke platforms, WITH softer suspensions wont do it. BTL does it with less than RMS.

I dont know. I wish I did, because I have a lot of money invested in my truck, and wish I could do some stronger numbers. Don't get me wrong ive gotten good numbers out of it, But they are going down hill.

Like I have said before.

This BTL has been put in ~5 different boxes, ran off of 3 different amps, in 3 different installs. Same thing.

Same thing, same volume, same problem.

forgot to mention, if anyone wants to question my install integrity,

Jntar, DJman37, Meglomaniac, Alpineinstaller, BassMekanik, and I think ~MagicMan~ all saw the BTL do this, and Jntar and DJman, were involved with several of the isntalls of it. We can take the BTL out and drop the MAG in on the SAME power SAME amp, and it wont do it.

anyone with either sub who can properly design a box for them and power them will be happy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, they are both very good subs
