RE 8" Sub question for my boat

I am looking to add some low end to my system in my boat but don't have room for 10's. I was thinking of doing 4 8" RE subs. I have room to install 2 boxes under my back seat, and would put 2 subs in each box. I would like to know if I should build a sealed box or a ported box for them. It is a free air application in the boat and I would like to get as much low end as possible with still staying clear and punchy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if anyone has any other 8" subs they recommend, I am open to suggestions.

i got a 16ft action craft and i got one 12 sealed in my center console and the amp under there as well along with 2 6.5 coax's and 2 3.5 i tihnk thats the size not sure but they are infinitys just running on HU power

I am putting them in a 31' IMP Viper and I just had 8 Clarion 6.5's, a Clarion marine head unit and 2 amps installed and it sounds great but I just want to add a little low end. I would go with 10's but my seat is not tall enough. I am going to build 2 separate boxes and place them under my seat but there is just not enough room to go with 10's, but it is plenty deep to have enough space for them.
