RC car crew: rustler issues

This ******* car is pissing me off so much. I put the new 3.3 in it, and the performance is horrible. The onlything I've narrowed it down to is the rear tires being faulty somehow. Beyond that, I've put in all new parts everywhere, and nothing is helping. Clutch, transmission, new ball diff, servos, the lot. Here's some pics just for reference. And yes, I know the left CVD is out, the **** things are too short.

Any suggestions? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

what is it doing in particular?

and you say there me be something wrong with your rear tires........they are slick.

and also, since you realize this as well, maybe you need new axles?

performance is going to **** when you run a big engine like that in a small car with only one wheel working...

The car jumps from idle to top RPM without climbing. I'm running a low gear ratio with 23t/70t and it still tops out slower than a 2.5 rustler. The axle only stopped working last night when I was testing it out for the last time, and it was still doing that with the half-shafts. Even with high gearing, it won't wheelie at all. So, I'm going to go get some new tires and foams today to see if that is the issue through and through.

And yes the tires are bare because I run a lot of negative camber, but the car should at least get to high speeds if I'm easing off the throttle, unless they start spinning because of the huge amounts of torque at 30,000 RPM (which isn't where torque is abundant...).

your tires are probably spinning out as soon as you hit the gas.

Clutch engaging ? Enginge tuned properly ? Slipper tight enough ? Should be freaking flying . The 3.3 in my old heavy arse sportmaxx wheelies too much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Clutch is engaging. In fact, I've used about 5 different clutch setups thinking that that was the issue. Engine is tuned properly, and even if it isn't, it should still wheelie this thing without trying. Slipper is 1/4 turn out, and diff is set very tight as well.

If it's too rich it will bog horribly . No top end and horrible power period. Every traxxas motor I have ever had has . But that doesn't sound like an issue if it's revving from ide to wot like you say. As tall as your gearing is , it should be taking some time to get up to speed . Does the drive train move freely ? Do you feel any binding anywhere ? Just tossing ideas man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That should be blatantly obvious if you see that happening . So mr. Pvlemanaudio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif do the tires break free and balloon instantly ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No binding whatsoever, everything is tightened, and the engine isn't rich at all. Nice thin smoke, and running at 260 degrees all day long.

i quote myself.
I bought some new tires and foams, so we will see.

Nope, they don't balloon or start spinning like that either, but I will see what's happening with that when I go to replace the tires n' rims.

buy my brushless mini-t and be done with the problems
Or, you could shut the **** up and not post again in one of my threads.

I'm just kidding lol

clutch not engaging right? glazed bell?
Already been there and done that with now 6 clutches and 4 CBs.

Okay, I think I've cracked it. I need to reset the carburetor to be sure, but after I installed the half shafts and new tires, the thing was wheelieing even with that low gearing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
