Ok well I've run into a problem over at the new duplex I live in. There is no room to put a sub were I would normally place it, which is right next to the front right or left speaker. Here is a picture of the only place we have room for it tell me if this is ok or if I'm better off just not running the sub at all. Hell this might be a perfect excuse to get smaller/slimmer speakers.

l33t paint skrillz to show you guys what I'm talking about. Sorry but the part were it says grey = fireplace I'm talking about the grey part with a box thing next to the hersey's. The other grey line with the sub next to it is the wall.

Corner gain can be your friend, not sure who told you a sub should NEVER go in the corner. Using a rat shack SPL meter and moving it around the room will tell you the best position, but since you only have one option put it there and see how it sounds.

My subs are in a corner 6' from the listening position and sound just fine there. Not able to locate them and they're about +6dB from were my IB set up was...
