satx120, jealous?
no, I do understand that, but the fact of the matter is that we could have been more prepared. why wasnt the state requesting help when Nagin was SCREAMING for it, even before the hurricane hit. i realize that nobody expected the hurricane to cause this much damage, but they knew for a fact it was coming to **** some serious shit up. do you remember every single news channel covering the storm before it hit? do you remember what they were saying about it was going to be one of the most devistating storms ever to hit the US? Now, I dont know about you, but if you put two and two together its pretty much expected that NOLA and its surroundings are seriously going to get shit on. You mean to tell me that we shouldnt have already prepared for this? come on man, you're smarter than that...or at least I would hope so.
they said the same about ivan charlie, and the other hurricane that hit florida *right where i lived* back to back to back. we had very minor damage on either coast line from all 3 in my eyes. yeah some roofs were ripped off.....work a week nonchalantly and the roof is done............not major damage. every hurricane is like that by majority circumstances....why would this one be any different? i mean...Al Roker says its gunna snow 3 feet in 24 hours..............and it snows 4 inches.
