"set-and-forget" signal processor???

I am interested in adding a signal processor to my system. I like the approach that Alpine took with their stuff using time/phase correction. The problem is that I don't want a unit that I have to "use" as my control panel for volume, etc. I already own a DSP/DTS/Dolby Dig unit but never installed it because I want to continue using my current head unit for power, volume, etc.

I want to hook something up, set it, and have it turn on/off with my system, etc. without ANY input from me (unless I want to make a set-up type change).

Hopefully somebody understands what the hell I'm trying to say...

Is there such a product? Brand/Model Number would be GREATLY appreciated so I can start reading up.

Thanks much,

You are going to have to be WAY more specific.

"Signal processor" is a pretty generic term. What specifically do you want this processor to do? If you need it to have an equalizer, what type of EQ do you want and how many bands? If you want a crossover built in, what crossover features do you want and how many channels do you need? Does it need to have time alignment also? How much are you looking to spend? What does your setup currently consist of?

- no EQ

- no Xover

- I WOULD like time alignment. "I like the approach that Alpine took with their stuff using time/phase correction" I have a small car (Eclipse Convertable) and time/phase alignment would help.

- I would love to have "listener position" DSP function.

- $$ depends on whether I think it is worth it. I would check for used/refurb 1st...

Setup:

CDT HD-62 fronts (6.5)

Polk db69 rears (6x9)

Vifa (4") center speaker (currently mixed mono)

JL 12w3d2 sub in trunk (12)

*******************

JL 300/2 (running CDTs)

JL 250/1 (running 12w3)

Alpine MRP-F240 (running Polks stereo + bridged to run Vifa MM)

********************

Stock Mitsu/Infinity 4-disc in-dash head unit (which I like and will keep).

Thanks,

R/C
