Just a quick question, trying to prove some douchebag wrong. This is what he says.

"

I have a 15" Type R that im running 2300 Watts RMS Too.. yes you read that right, 2.3K RMS, not Max, and its taken it for 6+ months of daily thump very well, this thing f*cking slams like a motherf*cker.. high 140's with a single 15 in a bigass ported box that takes up over half my trunk ( i drive an impala, so thats significant )

Heres some vids of what this is capable of, and infact im going to be getting a second one very shortly and squeezing two 15 R's in my trunk because i dont need an inch of trunk space so why not use it to double what i have now

The 10" and 12" Type R's can both take around 1200 watts RMS daily because they are the same sub with a different size cone on the end, and then the 15" Type R has a completely redesigned motor then the 10 and 12 and its just straight up retarded with what it can do."

Now, personally, the most I've heard someone run was 1,100w per Type R and the voice coils starting to smell. I forgot who it was, maybe it was someone here or on ROE. My concern isnt really the motor as one of the things this guy states, and I dont know much about the type R's but dont they all have the same motor? Also, what is the max someone has put to a single Type R and whats the loudest they have gotten?

ummmm what?

first off the 10'' and 12'' are different subs. they have different size magnets i know. and then the 15 has the dual spider. but back to the point.

its not actually 2300 watts. after amp rise and what not it is nothing near that.

they most you have ever seen is 1100 to a 12'' R?

i am giving my 12'' R's 2k each right now without any problems. the box size and speaker cable gauge have a large impact on how much the subs can handle.

another thing is the user. if your stupid you can burn an R off 700 watts

also, there is a guy on here who is running a autoteck 4000.1 on a 15''R, thats 4k

I'm not running a type R, the other guy is. I'm running a DD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. I was just curious as far as the truth to the power he claims the Type R to handle. Guess I'm the douche for thinking he's wrong.

I had a pca2000d on my 15R and it took it really well....you could smell it a lil after 4-5 songs full tilt but thats about it

tommyk had a kicker 2500.1 on his and was doing 150s off it...so they can take a bit over there rms

And wheres the guy with an autotek 4000.1 to 1 15...are you sure its wired to get all of 4000watts....that would be nuts if its true

My 12 laughs at 1.2k. 10's and 12's have 2" coils the 15 has a 2.6" coil. check out my vid its knockin hard. Never smelled once. Won't hit full excursion above tuning with 1.2k. Unclipped power is the key.

umm...the DD are kick *** but for the price of the R's, there an awsome sub. The 12" will eat 1200w everyday all day and laugh. THey can easily handle that and more. Your buddy is more than likely telling the truth. He may be exadriating a lil but still the 15" will handle that. THere are guys on this forum who run those kind of numbers!
