Questions

I have a 1999 Camry. I have 2 Cerwin Vega 10's that I currently have in a temporary box. I am rebuilding the box, and I have some questions;

1) In my trunk, the 6x9s are located under the rear package shelf, with the bottom half of the speaker assembly ptotruding into the trunk. Now, I heard it was better to make a box for the 6x9's. However, the assembly of the shelf (2 support bars that are under the sheet metal RIGHT next to the screws) prohibits me from installing a box. I was thinking, should I just take the speakers out and install them in boxes in my trunk (maybe attached to the sub box, or seperate boxes)?

2) This is a question to someone who has installed Dynamat in a full sized car. WHen you are installing Dynamat in the trunk, on the rear package shelf, how do you go about installing it? Do you actually have to drop the package shelf, cuz that is a b&%$#, or can you simply apply it to the bare metal? Also, how long does a PROPER dynamat install take in a trunk? I ask because it is getting pretty friggin hot here in Phoenix, and I am like a god **** snowman.

Thanks for your time and expertice guys

Zach

I dunno anything about american cars, but attaching the 6x9´s onto your sub box is not a smart move due to vibrations I think, i´ve heart story´s about people building small boxes underneeth the trunk shelf but I heart good, and bad things.

My guess is that if you have a bit of a quality speaker and you released it from its bass you shouldnt have a problem running it without those "boxes".

As far as dynamat goes, it can be done in a million ways and some are longer and more solid then others, personally it took me around 5 nights to get it all in but I deadened my sides, doors and trunk cap meaning I did a bit more then dynamat. Did have to demolish have my car to get it in...

I don't mean IN the sub box. It will be in a seperate box, attached with something like velcro.

Well, I do. Whenever the subs hit hard, I can hear my mids distort. Even when they are off, I can turn it up medium loud and feel them move when the bass hits.

Ok, but how long, in hours, did it take you to do the trunk and rear shelf?
