I'm looking to replace an entire stock system in a '92 Volvo 740.
I have the stock system in there right now. Which means, casette deck, front stereo speakers, rear door stereo speakers. There appears to also be an empty place in the front doors for speakers..
I'd like to spend as little as possible to still get a much nicer system than I currently have.
My budget for a headunit is less than $130. My eye's on the Alpine CDE-9870. It has iPod support, and good sound for the price.
I'd like to spend $100 max / pair for speakers.
What about an Amp? I don't play music extremely loud. I need to be able to hear music clearly on the freeway. That's the loudest I'll ever need.
What about a Sub? I like my music to sound normal. Not bass heavy.. but not completely lacking either. Will speakers cover my needs or should I opt for a Sub? I'm guessing that if I go for a Sub, an amp is a necessity?
