Hey everyone, i'm installing my friends new Avic-N3 in his 2000 Wrangler, and everything was going great until we ran into the speed sensor/reverse light and e-brake wire. Where are these located under the steering wheel column? I have heard that all 3 are accessable from under there and I think I have an idea which ones are which but i want to be absolutely certain before I do anything...after I figure out these 3 wires it'll be done! Thanks

Actually -- I'm planning on doing the bypass..is all I have to do ground the e-brake wire and not hook it up to the e-brake at all? How about the speed sensor and reverse light wires...do those absolutely have to be hooked up for the navigation to work right?

you can call eclipse about the speed sence wire (they have a chart) usually it is located in the guage cluster harness.

the parking brake wire is at the bottom of the e-brake usually one wire.

you don't have too hook up the speed sense for the Navi to work...it just makes it a little more accurate...and the reverse wire is there if you are hooking up the back up camera...if not just leave it

depends on the unit, we had issues with pioneer and the speed sense wire hook up...

Awesome -- all I did was flip the switch, ground the e-brake wire and I was good to go. The navigation works PERFECTLY without the speed sensor wire in it. I'll be getting my N3 next week to put in my cherokee //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

take off the metal harness thing around the n3 and theres a silver sticker, peel it back and there's a tiny black switch. just press it the opposite way, i used a knife..it'll void your warranty
