I have a 2006 Honda CRV. It has an XM Ready radio, but it needs an XM receiver, antenna, and installation kit. I checked with the Honda dealer, but it is very expensive to have the dealer install this. I searched online and found better prices on the Honda accessories, along with installation instructions. To save money, could I buy a non-Honda satellite radio receiver (such as pioneer) , antenna, and installation kit and use the Honda installation instructions to install?
Any information would be helpful. I'm not at all knowledgable about car audio equipment.
