I'm gonna be building a box for my Eclipse 8200 soon, and I'm trying to decide on the box size, etc.
I'll be powering it with a BASH 500w amp. Thinking of a box size around 2.5 to 3 cubes sealed.
Since the motor has a pole vent, I was thinking 2" from the rear would be sufficient.
When adding egg crate foam, does it have the same effect as polyfill? As in adding layers around the walls won't subtract from the volume, but slightly add to it (acoustically, of course.) Correct?
Also, most HT subs I see are down firing. Is there any benefit to doing a down firing than an out-firing sub?
Thanks,
Matt.
