Quad 2ohm voice coil

ok well with my TC-3000, its a quad 2ohm voice coil. ive never heard of this, or have any idea of how to even wire it. could i power this with a bxi 1606d? if so.. what would a quad 2ohm's final impendance be?

ok so if i wire it as if it was 2 DVC 2ohms, i should get a final impendance of 1, or .5 ohms? im hoping i can wire it down to 1ohm so i can power it with my 1606d

ya READ THAT ISH to figure it out.

essentially you can have a .5ohm, 2ohm, and 8 ohm final loads.

OR if you get a 2nd hifonics down the line, you can have a 1 ohm ( or 4 ohm) load on each amp and match the gains if they are not strapable.

ahh shitty. ok.. well i havent orderd the tc yet, so i think ill keep looking. i want something 1ohm stable and dont have money for an extra amp. or, would 1,100 watts be pretty decent until i get a second 1606d. i mean.. could a tc3000 handle 2000+ watts daily? the 1606d is rated for 1100 @ 2ohms and 1600 @ 1 ohm

Depending on the box you MIGHT be able to run @ 1 ohm after impedance rise when wired at .5.

I've notice most 1 ohm stable amps I've used will work wired @ .5 ohm, but I haven't used anything by Hifonics. Use a DMM to see the final load after it's in the box and do your calculations for the gain adjustment from there. Just a thought if you really wanted that woofer.

There is only going to be a 1-2dB difference between running that amp @ 1 ohm or 2. It will also be easier on the amp. Why is everyone so intent on running the max amount of power to everything? If 1100w isn't enough for you you need some help.

1100 is enough power, and i just figured running at 1ohm would bring it more to its potential since its a monster sub. wasnt sure if 1100 would be enough. but ive once again narrowed my choice, either the custom TC9 from dintzy or a 15" fi Q
