Push my sub with two JL 1000's or one Orion 2500?

I have a custom RE sub that I'm pushing with one JL 1000/1 amp right now. It gets real loud but Tuan mentioned that he's had people power similarly built subs with up to 4000 watts and they were fine. I'd like to give it some more power. NOw besides price, what would be the difference between putting a 1000/1 to each voice coil or wiring both coils to one Orion 2500d?

Yeah as of now my 300/4 and my 1000/1 look real good all matching right next to eachother cuz all the body lines and fins match up but I think you guys are right. I can power it with 500 watts more then 2 jl 1000/1's for about 500 bucks less and I've been dropping too much cash on my system lately so it looks like I'll be going that route. Does the 2500d have as much adjustment as the jl 1000/1?

I know I know, but I just dont have another 4 to 500 for another JL 1000/1. I wish I did, but I just got a letter in the mail today saying I need to pay the courts 430 bucks for some ticket I didn't pay. But *******, two 1000/1's and one 300/4 all lined up symetrically next to eachother would be ****ing gorgeous:bowdown:

tuning will be a lot easier with one amp. you can never get two amps perfect enough. one will always be different than the other, even with a dmm.
well the 1000/1 has the output rca's on it that i would use to connect the other 1000/1 if i used two. and if i set the gains and eq's on the 1st 1000/1 and then connect with the output rca's, the settings should all carry over to the 2nd 1000/1. I think lol

its still off a little. i ditched two JL 500/1s that i was running for that reason, plus i wanted a better amplifier.

So there's absolutely no way to get the amps to send the EXACT same signals? Because it seems like if one amp was sending one voice coil one signal, and the other amp was sending the other voice coil another signal, that the sub would produce some sort of distortion or fight itself and not be as clean right? I don't understand how if the signal that is set on the 1st amp is just goin to the 2nd to be amplified and then sent to the sub's 2nd voice coil, where does it go out of wack? Am I missing something here? I'd love to go with 2 JL 1000's just cuz it would look amazing and the 1000 I have right now is treating me great, but if I'd have to sacrifice a good amount of sound quality with the dual setup, I'd definitly go with the 2500d.
