problem with bearshare...

he'll have the same problem with all P2P's... it's kind of annoying to use them with NAT...

i dl'd ares just for the hell of it and it connected...idk wtf is up with bearshare...a buddy of mine can use it just fine...

is 192.168.2.1 the right IP for the computer you are on? Also did you remember to reset the router (power off-on) after saving the settings?

still not working? check bearshare under setup->options->connection to make sure the ports match... also you might want to try and fill the port number into both sides on the router page... there is a PORT X - _______ fill in the blank... so it's port 6348 - port 6348

then reboot the computer and the router... if that doesn't work there is more you can try but I dunno.. it's hard to troubleshoot via message boards...

I had the same problem with my mom's new computer. Tried a lot and never got it to work.

i ahd a similar problem a while back. one day it just stopped working. i dl'ed limewire and it worked as well as some other program. never got it to work again. then my comp had to be rebooted so i tried dl;ing the pro version, wouldnt even install. ive given up on ebarshare now, which sucks bc i loved it.

ok, i got it to work. what i did was go into my program files and COMPLETELY delete bearshare, all icons and everything. then i rebooted my pc, and did a fresh install....thx for the help.
