yes i have a router, i just turned the built in firewall on but bearshare still didnt work even when it was off...

it's not the firewall it's the NAT most likely.... you need to logon to your router and forward port 6348 to your computers IP (will be 192.168.X.X) on both TCP and UDP.... just login to the router and look for NAT setup or "Port Forwarding"

double check that first... maybe turning on the firewall cleared the port forwards...

what type of router (with model #) is it?

uggggg.... those routers are pure trash... maybe if you dropkick it something will happen....

Do this:

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Microsoft/MN-100/BitTorrent.htm

with port 6348 to your ip address on your computer... which is likely 192.168.2.1

hmmm it doesn't say where it's forwarding too... I've never had luck with the "application triggered" see if there is a static port forward...

ok log onto your router, then go to "security", then "port forwarding", then instead of clicking "application-triggered" like you did before (from your screenshot) click on "persistent port forwarding"

now fill out this form with forwarding on that port I listed above (something like 6348) on TCP and UDP (will take 2 entries) and make the IP 192.168.2.1 and use the same port for "private port":

limewire sux, i cant even get over 500kbps on cable...one day i got 7.4 mbps with BS...

he'll have the same problem with all P2P's... it's kind of annoying to use them with NAT...
