Problem with amp

Me and my buddy hooked up an amp today he got in the mail a few days ago, and him like a dumb *** put the ground in the power, and the power in the ground, and he tried hooking up the "ground" to the "ground" and it made a big spark, he did it twice, then he switched them and put them back to normal and the amp works.

There was a slight smell from the amp but its working good.

Should he be worried?

You sure?

There is a weird smell that smells like burning coils though, and his subs aren't hot at all.

Were both clueless

When I was in high school, one of my friends wired his Linear Power 5002 backwards without any fusing whatsoever and it started smoking. To my amazement, the amp still worked, and continued to work for quite some time after that! I lost touch with him after college, but the amp was still chugging along 4 years after the drunken mishap.

If it is a working alright man and not running hot you should be alright. Just take it easy for a few days and keep an eye on it. Was it a used amp?? What kind? What you got it wired to? What ohm load?
