after hooking up a hifonics brutus 1608, and turning the volume up very low, smoke started pouring out of the amp...i felt the top plate of the amp and it was cool, the speaker is wired at 1ohm (which the amp is stable at)...what could the problem be????

i quit smoking quite a fews years ago. it was a bad habit.
I would say 90% of the time, it's influenced by others. Maybe too many smoking amps near it will cause it to smoke? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

well it's too late now, because he hooked the amp back up and fire actually started coming out of the vents...so thanks for the help....but any other suggestions as to why it might have started smoking (the positive and ground were in the right terminals btw)
