Problem with 10 kicker

i help a buddie put in a amp and sub yesterday.everything is hooked up good.

he's running a alpine m-1000 to a kicker 10 cvr in a ported kicker truck box.

the sub only works sometimes...when you push on the cone the sub starts working. what could be the cause of this...?

we tried an indinctal sub and box and it works fine... so it's not the amp

any ideas?

sounds like the sub may have a bad coil or mabie one of the tensil leeds may be loose or have a bad connection.

Yeah, sounds like a loose tensil.

I agree with the loose tinsel.

On a side note, thats entirely too much power for one CVR. They are rated at 400 RMS.

well he plans on running 2 ...

if its loose at the terminal, you could re-solder it. if its at the coil end(where it goes into the cone) you might pry off the dust cap and re solder it there.
