pre-out voltage: 2 vs. 4 vs. 5 vs. 6.5

i know that higher voltage on the HU gives a cleaner and does increase response from say a SUB preout....ive gone from a 2V to a 4v and noticed a world of diffrence but thats just my experience maybe in your case it didnt seem to be too much diffrence.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
My guess is that you didn't reset the gain when you changed to a higher voltage.

There should be no difference in sound from one to the other, as that's what the gain is for.

No idea what you are talking about.........

Then you didn't do something right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I just went from 2V to 8V. No difference, as expected.
Give it up, some people believe marketing rather then fact.

maybe i should have stated that my HU was actually the diffrence rather than some mere preout....my PIONEER deck is partially why i have a better and cleaner signal. peace;)

what about when the volume is down? You think it's getting 3 volts?
I'm going to take a stab at what I think you're saying. I'm not sure. In all my years (12+) I never went in search of the theroy of, "it'll stay at 8v, just like a car battery, it just depends on the amperage" For lack of a better way to state/say it. I believe as volume goes down so will the volts from say 8v to ????1v, 2v.???? It's just that that amp'll need 8 volts to perform its best at spitting out the 900wrms (modified) when adjusted properly.

The amperage will slightly change, but all in all, output for the line will reduce, thereby reduing the rail voltage of the amplifier.

Otherwise, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif
