powercable/battery hookup problem

Im having trouble moving my subs/amp over to my new car.

It seems my battery is giving off no charge. when you touch the positive side with something there is no spark. the only way i have gotten it to spart is by touching the negative side of a wire first, and then touching the positive side.

the battery and car work fine, so i dont understand why i am getting now power from the battery?

right now, i can not figure out how to get any power to my amp.

all i did on my old car, was connect it to the positive terminal, and i had power.

There's a reason there's a 12v+ and a Ground on an amp, ur suppose to use both.

the amp is grounded..

its connected to the back of the car on the metal on a bolt on the inside. similair to my old car, so i assume thats good enough.

Doesn't always mean it is. try another ground?

re-ground it, make sure its bare metal. and also make sure you got a remote wire hooked up, ive seen people do that.

If the negative battery terminal has no wires connected to it, your amp won't get any power. The ground circuit is open.

There are two different kinds of noobs here.

Some people are noobs to CA.com but not to aftermarket car audio as a hobby and some are simply noobs all the way 'round.
