Depends on the line of work you do. All he is doing is welding premade parts together.

Oilfield welders fix cracks and weld pipes together and etc.. The pay is more due to the field.

A welder is always a welder....regardless of what work the employer does. If the welder can weld good, then he should expect a good salary regardless of the work. Weather it's a small piece company assembling stair cases or a large mfgr like Genie Global Landing Page

I was medically retired from the Army in December. Was diagnosed with Crohn's disease last year so that was the end of my Army career. I am at 80% disability which is $1800 a month plus they pay for my medicine which is $3200 a month. That is what matters the most to me.

Now I'm a satellite engineer. I enjoy it. The pay is pretty decent. Started at $35 an hour. But most days are 12 hour shifts which then goes to overtime and pay and a half which is awesome. Normally do in between 50-60 hours a week.

Also going to school using the post 9/11 GI Bill which is great for the housing allowance. For my area it is a little over $2k a month. Nice too because it along with my retirement pay is all tax free.

All in all, I feel I'm doing pretty good for being 27. Most importantly, I am able to provide for my son and give him everything I never had.

I work in the agricultural industry selling fertilizers, nutrients, seed, insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, and spray adjuvents to retail locations on a wholesale level.

salary is 48k plus 3% commission

i have a free work truck that i don't pay for at all (gas, insurance, repairs, etc. are all paid for....even for personal use). Truck is nice too, I get a new one every 2 years.

the job requires lots of traveling and hotel stays, but the hotels and food are paid for of course

Very flexible schedule...I make my own schedule

Not a bad job for a 23 year old who just graduated from college
