Use one for your 120 and the other for your low volt, and use the plate you were looking at for the low volt... Mount the 2 about 6-8 inches apart, where they would be behind your tv..

I am not trying to make a plug behind the wall. I am trying to make a hole behind the wall that doesn't look like I punched it with my fist

Ok, then scratch the 2 boxes, just buy 1 and get the plate you wanted and have your cord running across the wall.

i understood exactly what you were trying to do....

but as far as i can tell the grommet thing is your best option.... i just said something about them because i remembered reading about them being used for this exact purpose in popular mechanics magazine a little while back

to do it right you want to extend /connect these.

running 120 through some cheesy grommit is beyond ghetto.

I am not running romex power cable through the grommet, I am running the power wire for my TV.

Get one of these http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=261-153 and a make a small hole with a knife or a hole saw. Your choice.

Run your cables then mount the plate.

And fyi I used to install cable and running wires through a well insulated wall will make you want to demo the whole wall. My advice is to get some glod rods if its insulated or if not use fish tape.

edit: And for your cable just unscrew your wall plate disconnect it from the wall plate and run it back up the wall. Attach some thing to it incase you have a problem; such as fish tape.

Did you get a junction box to mount that wall plate to?

I doubt the wall is well insulated, but will probably pick up that fish tape from Lowe's. I can see me needing that in the future.

No. I never used a j-box for a wall plate. I normall cut a hole with a knife ran the wire from the attic connected it put to screws into the wall just enough to make it snug so I wouldn't have to worry about any other problems.
