and does the power wire for your tv use 120volts? or is it a Tesla excited TV set?

You CAN NOT RUN 120 concelled in a wall unless it is designed to do so , such as romex, bx, conduit, ect. What ever, buy those grommits, run your wire, hope a rat doesnt chew thru the tv cord and burn your house down. They have Licenced electricians for a reason, Other wise you could be one.

btw, i think i see a dvd of your mom behind my tv.

I read that. That is pretty much exactly what I am trying to do. Fishing that wire may be a b* but other than that, seems like I got this.

One of the points was if that was to occur, the insurance company would say your SOL. I'll probably install an outlet by the tv hidden out of view when the time comes.

If my house burns down, I have insurance. I don't have but close to 100 things an no one lives here but me.

I will study my policy to see what it says about this wiring thing. Perhaps you are right. But as for my house burning down, I couldn't care less.

The more I think about it, that is an interesting point. I wonder if local big boxes run the additional wire, or do they just tell people to run the power wire on the outside of the wall.

I don't either. However, I could see how an insurance company would blame a flood on me running that power cable down the wall and deny my claim.
