Post pics of your TV on the wall

Am I saying wrong? I do not see how what I posted is so unclear.
its very clear to me. I am unsure why these people think you are rewiring your electrical outlets.

and does the power wire for your tv use 120volts? or is it a Tesla excited TV set?You CAN NOT RUN 120 concelled in a wall unless it is designed to do so , such as romex, bx, conduit, ect. What ever, buy those grommits, run your wire, hope a rat doesnt chew thru the tv cord and burn your house down. They have Licenced electricians for a reason, Other wise you could be one.

btw, i think i see a dvd of your mom behind my tv.
he is not rewiring an outlet. All he needs is the gromet or a good wall plate w/ a hole in it so to speak.

thats the point i was making. You cant just run 120 thru a wall. It needs to be done right. If there was a power surge, that little (what 22awg) tv power wire could heat up and short out in the wall and smolder for days till your asleep... Real house wire has flame retardant and poision in it to detur rodents and protect against fires. Just letting you know. its your house, do what you like. Believe me, ive seen worse. Good luck.

And sorry about the dvd comment, wasnt called for.

Well, if I understand correctly, there is some truth to what they are saying. Apparently some cable is "rated" for wiring in the wall. (although not sure what makes it special). Using the power cable that comes with the TV is not rated for this use. And if the TV defected and caused a fire, I could see the insurance company using this to deny my claim.

I gotcha. I didn't concern myself with the DVD comment. I have said worse.

I suppose I need to contact Panasonic to see if that cable is rated for in wall use. If not, do that sell a TV power cable that is. If none of these are available, that ***** is staying on the stand.

the low voltage stuff is fine for a grommit, but the 120 should be done right. Just cut a hole above the exsisting plug, drop the wire down, connect it to the old plug and on the new plug with that Old work box thing with the ears,. easy, should take no more then 1/2 hour.

final thing.

If you want to go ghetto, you could make an extension cord with romex and run it in the wall . Just put those ectension repair things on each end of the romex and go for it with the grommit thing. GL.

so now you are changing your mind and want to relocate the outlet?
Maybe in the future. It is not something I am interested in doing at the present time. It isn't like I'd be moving the outlet straight up. It will be moving it about 3' to the left and 4' up.

Since I do not wish to splice into existing wiring, I'd have to remove the wire from the outlet to the far left (about 8' from the current one) to make this wiring work. Way too much trouble when the only reason I want to put it on the wall is so I can raise the height of my center channel.
